Michael,

Thanks for your reply. I want to move the Signets to a different room, or buy a new pair of speakers for the other room. Do you have an opinion on BIC speakers? If I start investing in new matched pairs, the BIC line seems quite affordable.

Thanks,

Siggie

I honestly don’t know BIC. I am more familiar with Paradigm, PSB, and Mirage – I built my system with them. That said, reviewing the BIC via Google shows they’re full frequency (50-20,000 Hz) and can handle fairly high power amps: all I saw were rated at 8 ohms. BIC is at http://www.acoustechlabs.com/acoustech.htm

You didn’t specify which BIC but my advice is getting speakers with a minimum six-inch woofer. I looked at the AL7.68 and that could be a choice: once again, depends on the depth of the wallet.

I would move the Signets to the other room and use the BIC speakers in the main room.

Just make sure you buy from a dealer giving a return policy. Not a high probability you’ll use it but, nonetheless…
