@Michael,The Brick Wall along the right side of the picture will eventually be sheet rocked by just laminating the wall board to the block. No 2x4 furring strips there as that will soon be an interior wall when I build a garage behind it.I don't know if Mrs. xSSMBB will allow an angle there.ChrisIf you’re sheet rocking that wall then putting in an angle between it and the window wall is easily done – maybe easier than making a protruding box on the window wall.As for aesthetics having a 6-8 inch across angle is a perfect place for DW to have a batik or macramé wall hanging or having an additional wall sconce dimmable light fixture. In affect, adding another ‘wall’.As for right-angle connectors my view is use them only in the direst circumstances. If it’s imperative then make sure the connection is made water-dust proof by wrapping in plastic sheet and duct tape after spraying with silicone dielectric grease. Being that close to an exterior wall invites problems caused by temperature/humidity change.Putting a flat screen TV above a fireplace: make sure the anchoring system allows air movement between the TV and the wall and, even better, one that allows the TV to be moved downwards somewhat (when the fireplace is not being used, of course). One thing about ‘above fireplace’ position. You haven’t mentioned what size TV you have but if you have that yet to get then make it a larger set (50-60-in.). Below that and you’ll really note the height of the TV.OT: how are the girls?MichaelR
