With all the recent attention around Windows NT® as an operating system it's important to step back from the hype and look at the reality. But do check behind you first (Microsoft® didn't).

First, it's worth noting that Windows NT® is a DOS-like operating system. While large slabs of it have been incorporated wholesale from projects such as MICA and OS/2 (some would say "stolen," but let's just call it "spelling-error compatibility" here), other large slabs fundamentally rely on 20-year-old single-user unstratified and insecure operating system technology and architecture.
