Might want to start by reading the book "The Millionaire Next Door". Its written by Stanley and Danko, a couple of market researchers, who discovered that all millionaires share certain traits, which include (some of it already described above):

Live well below your means
Do most of it yourself
Save into a medium that you understand (stock market, small business, real estate, etc)
Marry someone who shares your views and DON'T DIVORCE
Maintain your health

And to this I think I'd add:

Get a college degree...even if from your local community and then city college.
