Hi everyone,

Well, yesterday this portfolio hit a milestone. It closed with a valuation of $34,190.51 which represents an 8.53% time-weighted rate of return since inception (11/1/10). And that's the highest it's been since the end of April 2011 (when it was at 7.82%).

S&P 500 return since inception has been 29.15%, so I'm trailing that by 20.62 ppts, but that's down from the 28.69 ppt trailing level on 7/31/11.

Of the 60 total purchases made since 11/1/10, 31 are in the green and 23 are beating the S&P 500. Total average return for all 60 positions is 5.55% (trailing the average S&P return by 11.02 ppts). As individual holdings, 11 of the 17 different names are in the green (average of 30.72%) compared to 6 that are still in the red (average of 25.16%). On the $26,737.84 invested, I've made 11.73%.

Doing better. :-)

Cheers,
Jim

Wow, I had missed two special dividends (Western Digital had accelerated its regular quarterly payment into December and Western Refining paid a $1.50 special), which changes the portfolio's return. Instead of the 8.53% as of last night I had first posted about, including those makes it 9.16%, trailing the S&P 500 by 19.99 ppts.

:-)

Cheers,
Jim
