I have some old monster cable I drug out of the attack and hoped to use on my new system. Unfortunately, the fittings were incompatible but - fortunately - I was able to find subsitutes at the local electronics joint.

So I take off the old connections and attempt to put on the new ones, but regardless of how tightly I twist the bare line I can't get it through the sleeve. I check the new connectors agains the old one and find the diameters of the sleeves look nearly identical so I figured there must be some trick or technique as to how to do this. Would someone please clue me in?

P.S. And thanks again to the many of you who have been so helpful in assisting with my questions on equipment selection, etc.!
