New At Oak Park: Abercrombie & Fitch of Columbus, Ohio, plans to open two new stores in Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kan.

The company will open one of its new concept stores in July, along with stores in four other markets. Not much is know about the stores, and the company isn't saying.

Ellen Schlossberg, an analyst with William Blair & Co. in Chicago, said Abercrombie & Fitch was trying to establish a new brand name. The Clothing could have a more urban look or be "surf and shatewear" that would compete with popular Pacific Sunwear stores.

If the concept takes off, the company could open as many as 400 of the stores. The company's shares have not been doing well lately, and it has promised investors that it will work on its women's line, which is not doing as well as its men's clothing line. The new concept stores will be open in time for back-to-school shoppping.

Abercrombie & Fitch will also open one if its abercrombie sotes in the mall. The stores offer sportswear for children 7 to 14. The company has 35 of the children's stores across the country. Look for a September opening.

FYI: Personal note....I have come to understand that the name of the Concept III stores will NOT be "Fitch" as previously rumored. It will be a completely different name. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated...
