Having perhaps a bit of a Chance The Gardener moment. TC said in announcement yesterday that iPhone X was "the most popular phone in...China last Q."

What does this mean, necessarily? Not playing dumb (I'm serious...): does this mean X unit sales were greater than any other phone? This seems difficult to believe, doesn't it? Or does it just mean if you asked 1000 people what phone they would choose if they could have any for free, X got the most votes?

Yes. Followed by the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. If you listen to the conference call Tim specifically calls out the source of the numbers.

I didn't listen but read the transcript--albeit not all the Q&A carefully. You remember where he cited it? Was it in the Q&A or his opening remarks?
