mstrlucky74,

Welcome to SA.

I would not own VIIX. Period. It is a VIX tracker. I am wondering if that is not the correct symbol since it is not consistent with the other funds you mentioned.

VMCPX is a good fund for a 401K as are the others in your list.

My personal view: I would never invest in a target date fund.

I suggest you look at the funds in your 401K. If VIIX is the correct symbol, I would sell it.

Use one of the sites such as yahoo or Vanguard to look at the funds, see what they invest in, what they pay in distributions, etc. Here are a couple of links:

https://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=VMCPX+Profile

https://personal.vanguard.com/us/funds/snapshot?FundId=1859&...

You can enter the various symbols in the boxes on either and see what they do.

The funds you list for the other accounts: REM, QQQ, SPY and VYM are reasonable funds.
