Are there some simply rule of thumb type factors that can be used to select a mutual fund, for example - high Morningstar rating, higher than average yields over time, etc? I'm looking for around an 8% average return over time.I'm a very passive investor with some taxable funds to invest. Yes, this is a pretty lame request for input, but input will be appreciated.
