hello all!! i'm new to the site and still getting a feel for the site. i'm currently contributing 10% from every check towards my 401(k), yet i'm wanting to also invest in some mutual funds. i've been doing some heavy reading regarding mutual funds, and one thing that i've gotten from the website is to buy an index fund...... yet where can i invest in index funds? what is their account minimum?

regarding brokers to invest in mutual funds, where do you guys recommend i go? Edward Jones?....... i'm currently reading into some funds from American Funds, any thoughts/opinions?

remember guys, i'm new, so slap me around a little bit if i'm going the wrong direction, haha
