My extension MLB should fix their appoach to tie games, play a 10th inning then if still tied have a home run derby, each team puts up their big guns to hit dingers off a pitching machine. It makes about as much sense.

I couldn't agree more.

It's as inane as deciding a tied football game with a field goal competition.

I have no issue with the 4 on 4 OT and if you want to eliminate the point for the losing team in OT go ahead. Just don't expect anyone to take any chances in the extra period.

That said, I strongly disagree with the idea of keeping the skills competition after the OT period and taking away the point for the losing team. That's taking a bad idea and compounding it.

The shootout in and of itself already takes enough away from the game.
