My father passed away about 3 years ago. As the eldest son I took on the responsibility of making the funeral arrangements. He wanted cremation, so on the advice of clergy I contacted a recommended cremation service in the San Diego area. They carried everything out with a minimum of effort on our part. I think the cost was about $350-$400.

I would suggest you contact a church/pastor and get their recommendations.
