My helmet cracked when my head hit the asphalt

So much easier to replace a helmet than a head, right?

Glad your injuries weren't worse, even though a broken collarbone is no picnic. I broke mine when an out of control skier ran me over on the slopes. The first few weeks really suck, but it heals quickly after that. Don't be surprised though, if you continue to have weakness on that side when you try certain movements. My break was on the right side and I was unable to drive our stick shift car for a long time... the push/yank action of reverse gear would send shooting pain.

Why don't you donate the cracked helmet to your local school for a safety display? Maybe with a sign: "This could be your head"
