My mom fell and broke her hip last week. She has alzhiemers and it appears to have gotten much worse in this past week. We hope after the rehabilitation for the hip replacement we will be able to bring her home. The doctors say this may or may not be possible and we may have to put her in a nursing home or get a home nurse. I am wondering what I should be doing with the remaining estate at this point. There is about $250,000 in investments and the vacation home in Maine. I guess I need to transfer the home to the three childred. This is what she has specified in her will. How do I tranfer the home and what should I be doing with the remaining money. She has two grand daughters with weddings coming up in July and December. She wants to pay for these weddings. The expected cost as of now is about $22,000 each. Help will be greatly appreciated.
