My mother-in-law taught us all how to save on baggies and wraps. Bless her! We all did a lot of canning and freezing. To save on baggies and use portion control I developed a method of using cheap sandwich bags to put each portion of vegetables (or hamburger patty) and then put 4 or 5 inside larger quart-size ziplock freezer bag. This helps exclude more air as well as save space in freezer. You can take out only what you need, saving there as well. Works great for those patties. Just put portion of meat inside sandwich bag and press with palm to form patty. For berries and fruits you can store recipe size portions inside quart or gallon bags. When empty you don't have to worry so much about cross contamination either.
