My old boss at the University of Tennessee compared working for the University to being in a womb. A nice warm soft place that people are forced screaming from. At his retirement party he actually cried, no lie. When I worked at an oil refinery, a 72 year old crew chief was hit by mandatory retirement. They had a luncheon for him inside the refinery and he blubbered quite a bit. Then he wouldn't leave. His oldest friends had to surround him and herd him into a car to escort him out the gate. He reportedly owned $multi-millions in beachfront SoCal real-estate from purchases throughout his 42 year career. The rumors said that he needed to be "in charge" of people at work because his wife was the boss at home. I think he was just addicted to the fumes from producing the gasoline for the SUVs.1HF
