My ONE regret: American voters are so asleep at the switch, that Presidents will always abuse this power in return for campaign cash and other perks............................................................

I think many Americans are 'at sleep at the switch', but there are a lot of reasons for that. A lot just dont care, and dont vote. A lot[I consider myself in this class] tell outselves that we are too busy to go out and find the information for our selves, and the news isnt much help. Partisan bickering slants everything, and doesnt help.
I personally cant think of a time that I voted for a president..only for whom I felt was the least of two evils. The only ones that really know who is best [or think they do], are the ones on opposite ends of the spectrum. Politics has become similar to class warfare, noone recgnizes a sizable middle ground. And I personally dont have a clue how to correct this.

philz..can we dream, and try to get line item veto? After all, I cant think of it even being in the public eye for eight years.
