My parents actually keep telling me to live better and stop putting so much away because they are leaving us plenty to survive on after they pass. While i don't know the whole details of there financials i do know they are extremely well off and the house is paid and the rental properties are doing well and almost paid. i could very easily retire simply. question is do i really want to be rely on my parents to die to be all set in retirement. I honestly try to save as if i won't get anything. That way when/if i do i can be that much more secure and can splurge on grand kids nephews and do on. Or i can buy that overly loud and stupid sports car.
