My point is that these are not simple products. They are complex financial products that the insurance companies understand quite well and the customers generally don't. There are plenty of fees and expenses hidden in plain sight -- because the customers don't realize the financial implications of some of the statements.According to a link that intcst (??) posted, even straightforward SPIA have massive fees that the customers just don't recognise.
