My point was to keep all after tax IRA contributions in a separate account so tracking after tax contributions is simple rather than trying to track them if mixed in with a pre tax IRA. That is an accounting nightmare.Assuming that you properly follow the IRS procedures and file a form 8606, tracking after-tax contributions is no different whether they are in a separate IRA account or not. The amount of work is the same in either case.AJ
