So it looks like I don't have breast cancer, but we still don't know what I DO have. I'm seeing the surgeon Friday so they can run more tests.

But I had a sweet story that I wanted to share...

Before we got the lab and mammogram results back, DH and I had talked about what we'd do if I had cancer. I had asked him how he'd feel if I went bald from chemo, and he instantly replied that he'd shave his head so we could be bald together. I thought that was wonderful...

But this week, when the bank statement came in, I saw that he'd made an unusual purchase while out riding his quad. I could understand him stopping for lunch, but this was a $40 lunch! So I asked him what he'd bought.

He said, "Oh, I forgot!" And ran out to his gear bag. In it was a brand-new beanie-hat for me in bright red, with the logo of one of the popular dirt-bike/quad watering holes. (And he'd also bought himself one in a different color).

I thought it was a strange thing - he seldom thinks to buy me anything, and I don't ever wear hats. But I said thanks, and that it was cute (it is) and I put it on. He got this sheepish look on his face, and said, "I got it so that you'd have a cute hat to wear if you lost your hair, and I'd have one just like it to wear with you."

I totally lost it. What a sweet guy.
