My wife works for a large banking institution. We have requested the different
401k plans available from the plan administrator. My question is, if an equity
index fund is not available, how foolish is it to use our contributions to purchase
company stock? I am a new "fool", still reading and learning.

It only makes since if the stock fits with your overall
investment strategy. Would you buy the stock if your wife didn't work for the company?
