Myspace is kind of caught between a rock and a hard place here. They probably cannot provide effective protection without so much big brotherism that it would harm their popularity and thus their business, and it may also not be technically possible to provide protection that these predators cannot circumvent. Yet if these predators keep deceiving and exploiting these girls, sites like myspace are going to lose their asses on lawsuits. I don't envy them a bit. As for the 19 year old guy banging the 14 year old girl, if he did it by lying to her or deceiving her in any way, I'd bust his balls. Ordinarily I'd agree that the age difference thing isn't enough to justify ruining his life, but when a guy uses lies and/or other methods of deceit to get the girl, that combined with the age difference makes him a slimeball and he needs to do a little time.
