I remember reading about a vine of some type that people used to plant in a row to make a natural fence. As I recall, it grew thick and might have had thorns as some people used it as a fence for livestock. Because of it's toughness I seem to recall the word "hog" or "pig" was part of the name.

Anyone familiar with something like this?
