XOOM.com Sets Stockholder Meeting Date for Vote on Proposed NBC Internet, Inc. (NBCi) Transactions

Proxy Statements to be Mailed to XOOM.com Stockholders

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- XOOM.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:XMCM), a
leading Internet-based direct e-commerce company, today announced it has
scheduled a stockholders' meeting for November 24, 1999, for stockholders to
vote on the proposed NBC Internet, Inc. (NBCi) transactions. Mailing of proxy
statements to all XOOM.com stockholders of record as of October 6, 1999 will
commence today.
On May 10, 1999, NBC, XOOM.com and CNET announced that NBC will merge
several of its Internet assets with XOOM.com and Snap.com to form one of the
first publicly traded Internet companies combining these services in a
strategic relationship with a major broadcast television network, subject to
approval by stockholders of XOOM.com and other customary conditions. NBCi
will use Snap.com as its umbrella consumer brand, integrating broadcast,
portal and general e-commerce services.
