NCLB doesn't force a state takeover. The is one of several options availableto a school/state:.......By the way - this only take place after a school has been identified asneeding improvement for 6 years in a row.........my sister's response to post:"I am a teacher. I have no control over what the district has me do. Thisperson says 6 years, and there are other options. This may be true for thesuperintendent and the school board, but the teachers ultimately have to dowhat they say. They say raise the scores this year or there will be trouble. This is our second year in Program Improvement and there is great pressureon the teachers from the district."
