Netflix is now up. The outage was from approximately 12:30pm PST yesterday (Christmas eve) to 8:45am PST today (Christmas day).Netflix outage mars Christmas Eve http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57560784-93/netflix-outage-...This is the third outage this year where there were issues with Amazon AWS. Apparently Amazon's "Cloud Services" aren't as robust as advertised, and these well-publicized outages won't help Amazon get more customers for their AWS.My observation is that more often than not, starting in 1988 (when I got my Roku and thus started paying attention), Netflix has issues streaming around Christmastime, especially during the prime viewing hours (evenings) and Christmas day. This is also when people get Rokus and other streaming devices for Christmas and when a lot of people have more leisure time but fewer enjoyable nearby outside activities, so streaming tends to be much higher, and when issues are more likely to occur. The Amazon AWS was suppose to transparently handle that increased load gracefully but, alas, it didn't work out that way last night.
