Recently I became aware of the Canadian Revenue Agency's requirement for non-resident investors to file the new, non-resident investor, declaration Form NR301. That requirement has caused me a lot of heartburn, (yes, quite literally!)

My problem is not the form, which is simple and straight forward; it's finding out who or what organisation is supposed to receive my form. I'm "piggy in the middle", for the companies whose stocks I hold, the distribution agents for those companies, and my brokerage. Every one of these players has a different understanding of who is responsible to receive my completed declaration form; the only point of agreement is that they all deny responsibility for receiving and processing the form.

Has anyone else experienced this runaround game? Has anyone managed to get an authorative response to the question, and if so, are you willing to share the information?
Thank you
