I thought this chart might be of interest to other YGE and solar stock owners. If you look at the year to date change and current price this one still looks like a good buy to me. Any thoughts on YGE or the others?

I like a few Chinese solar stocks given the global warming concernds and like the China Analyst news service which puts out frequent charts on the solar companies. Recently, I have invested in YGE, JASO and STP and they have done well, but I am not sure if this will last.

Also, STP seems to have won a lot of respect even if JASO and YGE have done better recently.

I am also looking at LDK Solar, but the "scandal" created by their ex-executive "Charley Situ -a 6 month part-time controller (previously of China Grentech as a 6 month part-time controller)" gives me pause.

One of the many pieces on Situ is called "LDK Solar and the Seven Samurai" at:

It appears your apprehension is justified (see article below). The article you posted is compelling, though. I, too, have been reluctant to buy LDK for the very reasons you stated. I guess it would be best to wait out the investigation but if its good news it may skyrocket on us but if it’s bad, well, you know the rest. The company itself seems proactive in its investigation and there are a lot of contracts on the line. Oh, the humanity!

There is also something else to consider with the Fed Cuts today chances are excellent the Chinese market will react tomorrow. We should see a hike in our solar stocks I hope. Thanks for the post.

I agree LDK may explode (in a good sense), but I plan to wait as well.

As far as YGE, I only bought my initial position in YGE on 9-20-2007. I think it was because of one of your poists. Since then it has gone up over 70 percent. Do you think it is still worth purchasing more?

Andy,

YGE has been featured as the solar stock to own by multiple financial gurus. I have read that it should top $84 by Nov. of 2008. The chart I posted shows it as an extremely positive stock. So, I want to say yes. I am cautiously optimistic to be honest because I am a cheap investor. I definitely think it will head up to compete with JASO and STP which are trading at 58.00 in the near future. The numbers are there to justify my opinion.

Regardless, I am seriously thinking about backing out on some of my stocks that just linger around the same number for weeks and putting more towards YGE. Since, my first purchase at 14.81 I have made two to other buys of this stock. It is clearly the best choice I have made in my portfolio.

Rob

Oh, it does seem this solar chart is updated every few days.

Andy,

Today, I got a two link from anther board on some information I thought you might find interesting on LDK. LDK is seriously defending themselves against the lawsuits. It does make me take a second look at the numbers on this stock. We may be kicking ourselves if this information is correct and we wait. Take a look and see what you think.

Thank you. I will relook at YGE as soon as I have more cash.

Thank you for the article. It is interesting, but I am not sure I would assume (like the author Michael Shaffer did) that hiring expensive high profile law firms was a good sign.
