Would the new fee be deductible? It is investment related right?

cookedstock,
Yes, the new fee would be deductible on Schedule A as an investing expense similar to a magazine subscription.

Possibly, a fine line here. My high tech/design subscriptions were not allowable after an audit in the early 90's even though I was an working in the electronics field (20+yrs.) doing EE work. The explanation; I was a non-degreed eng., no professional club/society membership and employment with major electronics firm did not apply. However, my wife's RN subscriptions did apply as she met the first requirement of having a degree. Hadn't thought the IRS had lightened up in this area but I will be checking into that next month.
