In my new home, we had a eroded ravine in the yard from where the downspout outlet was to our property line. I bought some seed, put it down, and stabilized everything with burlap fabric. I got the grass growing nicely. After that, the builder put in some additional sidewalk for us. His guys came back the other week and put soil down around the sidewalk, and all through that little ravine I stabilized. They didn't plant any seed, or put any mulch down. It rained this weekend, and now my backyard is one big mud hole. I called the builder Saturday and complained, he said he'll be out Monday or Tuesday. We'll see.Add to that the poor workmanship putting in the door hardware. The strike plates, etc, look like a twelve year old put them in. Also, I've got drywall tape coming up under the paint. The crews that do this work are not skilled tradesmen. They are using sub-contractors that pay a little above minimum wage to whoever they can hire. It looks like a lot of these guys are hired out of a labor pool. This is driving me nuts. I didn't mention that I have windows still sitting in my garage that belong to the builder, and he still has to mount more door hardware in this house.George the Angry
