Well, May 23, 2001 has now come and gone and yet the company (Bass Hotels & Resorts) has not released the new company name. With the sale of the Bass Ale Brewerys, the name Bass has gone with it. The proceeds from the sale remain in the bank and the stock for BAS continues to make little to no advances. I realize that the financial community feels that money makes people (or a company in this case) stupid, but one has to know the company for what it is...a long standing, good reputation, affordable, family lodging. I am certain Kemmons Wilson never imagined when he opened the first Holiday Inn Hotel, in Memphis, Tennessee back in 1952(?), that his foresite would be all the rage 50 years later.
Anyone have any insights on the delay for the release of the new company name, and why our stock fails to make any remarkable advances, other than the ones previously mentioned?
