STOUGHTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1997--Robert Meers,
president and Chief Executive Officer, Reebok Brand, today announced
the appointment of two senior executives. Jack Guze, most recently
vice president, merchandise strategy and business development for
Sears, Roebuck & Company, will join the company as senior vice
president and chief marketing officer. Jimmy Jones, formerly vice
president of Human Resources for INOVA Health Systems, will join the
company as senior vice president of Human Resources. Both Guze and
Jones will report directly to Meers.
As vice president, merchandise strategy and business development
for Sears, Jack was a key member of the senior team that transformed
Sears into one of the leading department stores competing in the
market today. He also was responsible for international sourcing for
the Sears Merchandise Group. He had previously held the position of
group vice president, responsible for the men's and children's
apparel and family footwear business. Prior to his tenure at Sears,
Jack worked for ten years at the Dayton-Hudson Corporation where he
served as divisional vice president, family footwear, responsible for
men's, women's, children's and athletic footwear. Earlier in his
career, Jack spent ten years with R.H. Macy's in the competitive New
York market. Jack holds a BS degree in Economics from St. John's
University and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.
As senior vice president and CMO, Jack will be responsible for
global marketing strategy, footwear, apparel and equipment product
strategy, design and development. This position is one that Paul
Fireman has been responsible for during the past eighteen months, and
Jack will work closely with Fireman during the next six months to
ensure a smooth transition by early 1998.
Jones joins Reebok from INOVA Health Systems, a Virginia-based
healthcare company where he served as vice president of human
resources. Previously, Jones was the senior vice president of human
resources at the Catholic Health System, a $4 billion healthcare
provider. He has served also for four years at Johns Hopkins
University as vice president, human resources, and seven years as
vice president of employee relations at Gannett Company, Inc./USA
Today. Earlier in his career, Jimmy was the assistant director of
personnel for the New York Jets.
Jimmy brings to Reebok 23 years of experience in employee
relations, cultural diversity, work and family issues, training and
education, as well as a wealth of experience in executive and
organizational development, strategic planning, team effectiveness
and merger and acquisition work. Jones received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Education from the University of Nebraska in 1966
and a graduate degree in Management/Personnel from Central Michigan
University in 1979.

worldwide, including employee relations, cultural diversity, work and
family issues, training and education and strategic planning.
Reebok International Ltd., headquartered in Stoughton, MA., is a
leading worldwide designer, marketer and distributor of sports,
fitness and casual footwear, apparel and equipment. Principal
operating units include the Reebok Division and The Rockport Company,
Inc. Sales for 1996 totaled approximately $3.5 billion.
