Shares of Talk America (TALK) surged nearly 11 after the Reston, Va., phone services firm said it expects to beat its previously disclosed outlook for earnings of between $5 million to $7 million on revenue ranging from $88 million to $91 million in the second quarter. Talk America added that it ended the quarter with roughly 443,000 bundled phone lines, and that it retired $22.2 million in long-term debt during the period using cash flow from operations. The company will report its second-quarter results on July 29, and it plans to provide an update on its outlook for the rest of the year that will be in line with or above its prior forecast

I just bought in last week after reading "Hidden Gems" and doing a little research. I also went to the web site and signed up for their phone service. I am in Michigan (Talk's strongest market) and the rates seem good.

When I walked in from work today I received a call (Talk telemarketer) wanting me to sign up. I told he she just missed out because I signed up on the web. She chuckled and checked to make sure my order was in and thanked me.

Hopefully this one keeps going up.
