New Vanguard "Target" Funds

No one has much direct experience since they are new funds. On the other hand funds of funds and balanced funds have been around for a while. The funds which are contained in the Target Retirement Funds have been around for a while and no additonal expenses are charged by Vanguard. I think they are a great idea for many people. My DW will be rolling over a lump sum pension into one of the funds soon. If you don't like the asset allocation of the "suggested" fund based upon your retirement year you could always select a different fund.
