3/01/00 - NYSE suspends series L shares of Mexico's Iusacell

NEW YORK, March 1 (Reuters) - The New York Stock Exchange said on Wednesday it had suspended trading in the series L
American Depositary Shares (ADS) of Grupo Iusacell SA (CEL.N) (CELV.MX) after the Mexican cellular phone company swapped them
for a new series of ADS.

The NYSE said it plans to delist the series L ADS, which trade under the symbol "CELy" (CELy.N), because fewer than the NYSE
minimum of 600,000 remain outstanding.

Early last month Iusacell said it would offer new ADS for the series L ADS as part of a capital restructuring announced in late 1998. The
new ADS of the group, now known as Nuevo Grupo Iusacell, trade under the symbol "CEL" on the NYSE.

An NYSE spokeswoman could not provide details on the Nuevo Grupo Iusacell exchange offer. Iusacell spokesmen were not
immediately available for comment.

Iusacell's Series L ADS closed at 20-3/8 on Feb. 29. The new ADS were up 2-1/4 to 23-1/2 in morning trade on Wednesday.
