News release I saw indicates drought tolerant corn will be offered commercially in the plains states for the first time this year.

Others have noted that higher price is worth it only in a dry year as yield is the same offering no benefit in a wet year.

St. Louis has close to 70 deg predicted for Friday; unusual here for January. Drought and fires in Australia and high winter temps here suggests this could be another dry year with an early Spring. That could mean desperation on the farm next year. Most have resources to tolerate a dry year or two, but as time goes on, people lose their land.

That could mean hard times for farmers unless they can irrigate.

Monsanto does best when everyone makes money.
