Let me help. I keep a virtual chicken handy for just such a situation. <waving virutal chicken> Now, on to your situation.

TMF uses two different naming schemes for posts. One uses a simple message ID number. The other uses either the subject line or the first couple dozen (or so) characters of the message. Rather annoying, if you ask me.

In some places, TMF uses one method to generate a link to a specific post, and in other places they use the other method.

The upshot to all this is that if you click on a link that uses the post number, for example, it will not show up as read if you come across a different link that uses the subject line as part of the URL. Unfortunately, that is just the way it is - unless TMF chooses to use a single method for linking to posts.

So let's try some tests. Click on the link to a post. Then click the back button on your browser. Does that link now show up in green rather than blue? If not, try reloading that page. Does that fix it?

Here's another wild guess. Have you turned on private browsing? That would prevent your browser from storing the information needed to mark links as visited and turn them green.

At any rate, the issue is almost certainly at your end. There is nothing that TMF does to indicate posts as read or not read. That's all handled by your web browser. So let's see if we can figure this out.
