I know the NGN basket portfolio has been flogged to death but I would like the threads input into the basket that I have setup. My portfolio is quite extensive as that I am buying the component makers, box makers, optic and dsl equipment makers, chip makers, voice over IP, and threw in some storage for good measure. I came up with a whopping 38 stocks which I plan to buy on a regular basis using foliofn.com to keep my commissions to 300 dollars a year. It also lets you buy the whole basket with a simple click. Paul Johnson believes that this is a trillion dollar oppurtunity over the next 20 years so i want a piece of that action. I have read this thread, lightreading.com, and multiple other sources and feel that picking the winners will be very tricky and I would capture most of the move rather than the enormous gains or losses associated with picking the winners or losers. Here is my prospective portfolio:agilentafciamccavcibrocadebroadcomcienaclarentcopper mountaincorvisciscodigital lightwaveefficient networksEMCextreme networksfoundry networksosicomfinisarcorningglobespanharmonicjdsujnicjuniperlucentnortelnetwork applianceoni systemsparadynePMC-SIERRAQlogicredbacksycamoresonustriquinttranswitchvitesseMy plan is invest in them equally and to let the winners run (no rebalancing). I'll sell off the losers as they become exposed. This is very much like Gorilla Game investing except some of these aren't gorilla games. I could do this with cap-weigting but I want the small fry that can provide explosive moves to be able to do so. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Don't worry about hurting my feelings. Also, if you have any suggestions on adding/dropping companies that would be welcome.thanks, jmmitias
