Get this...what's proposed in NJ legislature

1) Anyone buying/owning a gun will be subject to a mental test

2) Before you can buy/own a gun in NJ, your home has to be 'inspected' by the police to make sure you have 'secured' your guns from children.

------

That's really going to go over well in the ghetto.......

and of course, the mental test might be something like:''

"Knowing that Barack Obama is out to destroy the US as we know it, and take away private gun ownership, would you agree that someone would be insane to vote for him a second time"?

Whatever you answer, you would be judged insane and not be able to own a gun in NJ.

Sounds good on paper, but what standard will they use? And more importantly, who will do the grading? Some of these people doing the shooting weren't out and out psychotic, they were ver antisocial. Not everybody that is antisocial is going to go on a shooting rampage. Where will the lines be drawn?

This reminds me of my chronic pain rotation in residency training. Had an attending that before she'd accept a patient, they had to show her a picture of a safe, in their home, with them next to it, where they'd keep their narcotics. In theory to keep kids/friends/other family members from using the drugs.

So what, you have a safe. Unless you check 24/7, doesn't mean they'll keep things there or keep others from getting the combination. Useless.

chuckle chuckle...I'm sure in the ghetto, you'd have 30 friends ...and the same one safe would show up in 30 pics......

and the folks would keep their meds in the medicine chest or on the bathroom counter....or kitchen closet....

If you are going to buy a gun for self protection, and live in a high crime area......or anywhere for that matter, the last place you want your gun is locked up in the back of the house while you are in the front of the house when the perps knock down the front door, or turn off the power to your house......leaving you unable to see the combination to your gun safe.....

If you are deemed to be a conservative or if you voted for Romney, you will not be mentally fit to keep your firearm.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Sounds like the plot from "Catch-22"--a paradoxical situation in which a person can't or is incapable of avoiding a problem because of contradictory rules, based on the explanation of the character Doc Daneeka as to why any pilot requesting a psych evaluation hoping to be found not sane enough to fly, and thereby escape dangerous missions, would thereby demonstrate his sanity:

"You mean there's a catch?"

"Sure there's a catch", Doc Daneeka replied. "Catch-22. Anyone who wants to get out of combat duty isn't really crazy."

...

The insanity of all this is that Obama is just a con man

The tragedy that sprang all this, were done with weapons that would all be legal, in a situation that would all be legal and involved people all of whom would have been legal

UNTIL THE FRIGGIN GUNS WERE ESSENTIALLY STOLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the son stole the mother's guns. They were stolen, and nothing that is being proposed would have any impact at all on the situation, except some of the insane ramblings that are sort of the anti-gun equivalent of those opposing 'Darwinism' as voodoo

I suspect they will utilize the catch 22. You are allowed to own a weapon. But if you decide to purchase a weapon you are judged insane.

Thats one reason why we have two pistols. One on each end of the house.

If you want a gun, you are obviously mentally unfit to have a gun.
