I had been getting some pain in my legs & hips for about 10 weeks.

(The full story is here if you are interested : )

Briefly, the pain turned out to be metastatic growths from an undiagnosed and inoperable lung cancer.

Anyone who can make it to Jesmond cricket club in Newcastle from 7.30 pm to 11pm on the night of 31st October is invited to a Halloween/going away party.

Fancy dress is optional but appreciated. It will be more of a drop in have a drink & nibble than a fully catered party as I have no how many will come and how many would rather dance on my grave, or compost me.

My friends from Tango are putting on dancing and top quality performances. Work colleagues, friends and family have been invited. Allotmenteers are those involved in my care are all especially welcome.

I was going to have a quiet 60th birthday party early in November, I just decided to upscale and advance the date. Love to see you there even for a few minutes if you can make it.

Also We have rented a nice easy to live in flat, rather than adapt our house, so people can drop by for a chat if they want. It is the top floor, corner block, directly opposite Asda entrance in Gosforth about 100m from Regent Centre Metro. our lease starts on Nov 1st by which time the Chemo & radiotherapy will be in place and a bit more idea about things. So should be ready to receive visitors by the next week.
