I can't go into the rumors - People around here talk - but there have
been some things I have seen with my own eyes. I am a neophyte with
regard to the mob, and all of my personal experiences give only
circumstancial evidence.

This month's Texas Monthly is doing a bit on the turnaround of
Galveston over the past decade. Galveston has a heritage of vicey
behavior(sort of like Louisiana). When I first met Galveston in the
mid 70's it was not much different than Atlantic City circa 1970.
Anyway, it goes on to say the big guy's family ran a gambling op
in Galveston in the 1940's. Circumstantial? yes. I met the big guy
~1986. late twenties and a buhzillionaire - there were perhaps
a few crab shacks, couple of Landry's - not the kind of money I was
seeing. Circumstantial? yes.
After the Enron scandal, the baseball park is taking bids for a new
name. Minute Maid won. Landry's offered more. I wonder why
they turned him down. Circumstantial? yes.

I have a ton of these. I want to live.
