No simile, metaphor or analogy is safe if there’s an offending word in it and the list of offensive words grows daily. Nor is any sentence written in the English language since all words can be construed as affecting someone or other.

Euphemisms also. Can’t say ‘French letter’ because what’s described is neither French nor a letter but having French in the words may upset the French. And so on and on.

The Bowdlerization of language reduces the language to tortuous convolutions trying to say the same thing but in a manner to not displease anyone.

It was once said that education only raised the heights rude graffiti were written. Now words can’t be written if someone decides they are uncultured graffiti.

Well, they can kiss my gluteus maximus.
