No... you're correct in your conclusion that there exists a problem.
But the problem lies in our denial, not the lack of Biblical context.
Power, authority, earthly acceptance, all these things and more
are the idols to which we attach... and by so doing, we lose our first love.

I believe there is an element of truth in every criticism of Christianity.
