NoIDAtAll thank you explaining. The porcelain coated grates I have had in the past had porcelain that was in the range of 1 mm thick - not unlike the thickness on enameled cookware. And like that cookware, the porcelain would chip. Once that happened, water got under the remaining porcelain, rust happened and before long the grate was a serious, unusable mess.
