Nor can you "spend" a stock, at least without selling it. Sure, but I don't have to move and find another place to live if I sell my stock to spend the money. In fact, I'd argue that I have stock with the intention of eventually spending that money. I do not, however, have my house so that I can eventually spend it.Maybe we just have a different philosophy on housing, and what works for me doesn't work for you, and vice versa. That's OK. There's nothing that says that everyone has to have the same risk tolerance or investing strategy or priorities or goals. Ours just seem to be different than yours, and there's nothing wrong with that.It is always good to hear another opinion/strategy to see if something new might work better for me, so I appreciate the discussion.
