Keep losses to a minimum and *INCLUDE* a few volatile names

I'm with Paul on this one: Not being a value investor, I enjoy taking a ride on a few of the high fliers.

except I consider part of my portfolio value and part growth and usually have a couple of wildcards thrown in.

I try--and fail occasionally--to never any single issue show a loss of more than 25%. It can always be bought back.

I notice that almost everyone here has a little bit (or lot) different style, and that's as it should be. I would guess that everyone is also 'winning' and the definition would be according to each.
