Not even "comforts". Just the enhanced safety stuff would be nice (side airbags!).

I was sad when Jeep replaced the Cherokee with the Liberty. The Liberty weighed more, got worse mileage, and had worse off-road characteristics. I also don't think it could carry as much.

Don't know if they have any new offerings to rival my '98.

I hear mixed things about Land Rover. Most say it does well off-road, but has poor reliability. Agree about the Hummer. Pretty much just the original was any good, though its mileage is even worse (something like 9mpg, I think).
