Interesting chart that can be sorted on the columns. Seems the countries with the highest rate of firearm related deaths are mostly Central and South American. Here are the top ten per 100,000 people:

Country Rate
El Salvador 50.36
Jamaica 47.44
Honduras 46.70
Guatemala 38.52
Swaziland 37.16
Colombia 28.11
Brazil 19.01
Panama 12.92
Mexico 11.14
Philippines 9.46

The US is 12th BTW. Other than Swaziland and the Philippines, all of those countries have a high rate of firearm death due to drug related activities. See http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Americas/Latin-America-Monito... for more info on that.

I ran across this while doing research trying to better understand the gun violence problem in the US and determine what I think is the best action to support. I thought it might be interesting to those of you trying to come to grips with that same problem.
